PROVIDES SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALISTS SUPPORT FOR THEIR ACTIVITIES AND CONTINUING EDUCATION TO ENHANCE THEIR EXPERTISE AND MAINTAIN THEIR PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS IN LIGHT OF TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS. THE GLMA PROVIDES ADDITIONAL TRAINING AND PEER SUPPORT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH THE SPONSORSHIP OF AN ANNUAL SUMMER CONFERENCE AND YEAR-ROUND STAFF SUPPORT. THEY ALSO SUPPORT AN ANNUAL READING BOWL AND PROVIDE MEDIA SPECIALIST PROJECT GRANTS AND AWARDS.
