Part 3 - Line 4a

DURING 2022 THE RECOMMENDATIONS COMING FROM THE GROWTH COMMITTEE CONTINUED TO BE ACTED UPON. THE GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE CONTINUED TO MEET REGULARLY AND RECRUITED 4 NEW BOARD MEMBERS. THESE NEW BOARD MEMBERS ARE EXPANDING OUR COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS, HAVE CORPORATE TIES AND ADDED TO THE BOARDS DIVERSITY IN RACE AND AGE. THE FOUNDATION ALSO EXPANDED ITS FUNDRAISING IN 2022 BY CONTINUING TO USE A GRANT WRITER TO WRITE GRANTS TO LOCAL FOUNDATIONS. INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISING ALSO EXPANDED BY CONTINUING TO USE THE SERVICES OF A NATIONAL DIRECT-MAIL COMPANY, CARL BLOOM INC. WE CONDUCTED TWO DIRECT MAIL SOLICITATIONS OF INDIVIDUALS. WE ALSO CONDUCTED TWO ACQUISITION MAILINGS IN WHICH WE SOLICITED HOUSEHOLDS WHOSE DEMOGRAPHICS ARE MOST LIKELY TO DONATE TO LIBRARIES BUT HAVE NEVER GIVEN TO US. THIS EXPANDED FUNDRAISING ALLOWED THE FOUNDATION TO IMPLEMENT TWO NEW PROGRAMS AT THE LIBRARY: ONE BOOK ONE READ AND THE CHILDRENS BOOK FESTIVAL. BOTH PROGRAMS WERE HUGE SUCCESSES AND WILL CONTINUE EVERY YEAR NOW.

THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM WAS HELD FROM JUNE 1, 2022 TO AUGUST 1, 2022, WITH A TOTAL PARTICIPATION OF 15,000 CHILDREN, TEENS, AND ADULTS. A TOTAL OF 63,903 BOOKS WERE READ AND 8,568 CHILDREN, TEENS, AND ADULTS ATTENDED PROGRAMS THAT SUMMER, INCLUDING CRAFT PROGRAMS, STORY TIMES, COOKING PROGRAMS, AND BOOK CLUBS. IT IS A POPULAR CHOICE FOR READERS OF ALL LEVELS.
