A 7-MONTH JANUARY-JULY EDUCATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL STUDY PROGRAM FOR PREDOMINANTLY NORTH AMERICAN HIGH-SCHOOL SENIORS AFTER GRADUATION. THE PROGRAM COMBINED APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS OF RESIDENCE IN ISRAEL FOLLOWED BY 2 MONTHS OF FOREIGN TRAVEL TO SEVERAL COUNTRIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST,NORTH AFRICA,AND EUROPE. THE PROGRAM WAS PRECEDED BY AN OPTIONAL ISRAEL-BASED APPROXIMATELY 10 WEEK HEBREW AND ARABIC LANGUAGE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM. THE ABOVE 7-MONTH PROGRAM WAS A SOMEWHAT MODIFIED FORMAT DUE TO COVID-RELATED UNCERTAINTIES AND CONSTRAINTS THAN KIVUNIM'S USUAL 8 MONTH OCT-MAY PROGRAM OF PAST YEARS MARKED BY ALTERNATING ISRAEL RESIDENCE AND MULTIPLE 5-14 DAY FOREIGN COUNTRY TRIPS. THE FOCUS OF THE PROGRAM IS ON UNDERSTANDING THE HISTORY AND CONTEMPORARY LIFE OF INTERNATIONAL JEWISH COMMUNITIES INCLUDING ISRAEL, AND IN THE CONTEXT OF THE BROADER HISTORY OF THESE COUNTRIES AND OF THE MULTI-CULTURAL WORLD IN WHICH WE LIVE; ACTIVITIES INCLUDE STUDY AND LECTURE PROGRAMS AS WELL AS CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS PROGRAMS, INTEGRATED WITH VISITS TO HISTORICAL,CULTURAL,AND RELIGIOUS SITES.
