THE CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, THROUGH THE ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION, ORGANIZED 54 PUBLIC EVENTS: THE SIGNATURE INTERNATIONAL LECTURE SERIES AT THE ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL ENCOMPASSING 12 LECTURES; 12 LECTURES ON INTERNATIONAL ART, ARCHITECTURE AND CULTURE AT THE ALBUQUERQUE MUSEUM; 5 BOOK CLUB DISCUSSIONS; 4 INTERNATIONAL CUISINE EVENTS; 10 RECEPTIONS; 4 DINNER DISCUSSIONS, ONE GALA FUNDRAISER EVENT; ONE INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK & BAZAAR FUNDRAISER AND TWO TRIPS ABROAD TO LEBANON AND SOUTH INDIA. IN TOTAL, 3,140 PEOPLE ATTENDED THESE EVENTS.
ENRICHING THE LIVES OF THE ALBUQUERQUE COMMUNITY BY CREATING A VIBRANT INTELLECTUAL ENVIRONMENT DEALING WITH CULTURE, ART, GLOBAL HISTORY, AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS. THIS ENDEAVOR CONSISTED OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: INTERNATIONAL LECTURE SERIES AT THE ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL, LECTURE SERIES ON ART, ARCHITECTURE AND CULTURES AROUND THE WORLD AT THE ALBUQUERQUE MUSEUM, GLOBAL SKILLS FOR YOUNG ADULTS PROGRAM, GLOBAL ROUNDTABLE DINNER DISCUSSIONS, INTERNATIONAL CUISINE CLUB, FOREIGN MOVIE CLUB, BOOK CLUB AND TRAVEL ABROAD.
