CHILD CARE CONNECTIONS, INC. (CCC) IS THE LEAD CHILD CARE RESOURCE AND REFERRAL (CCR&R) AGENCY IN REGION 7 FOR THE DIVISION OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND EARLY EDUCATION (DCDEE). THE AGENCY IS ALSO A DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDER (DSP) WITH SMART START AND IS PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING CHILD CARE REFERRAL SERVICES TO FAMILIES IN CLEVELAND, GASTON AND LINCOLN COUNTIES FOR LICENSED CHILD CARE. AS THE LEAD REGIONAL AGENCY, CCC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING LOCAL AND STATEWIDE PROJECT GOALS AND OUTCOMES FOR CONSUMER EDUCATION, THE INFANT/TODDLER ENHANCEMENT PROJECT, PROMOTING HEALTHY SOCIAL BEHAVIORS IN CHILD CARE SETTINGS PROJECT, FAMILY CHILD CARE HOMES PROJECT AND THE SCHOOL-AGE INITIATIVE. CCC PROVIDED CONSUMER EDUCATION SERVICES TO 125 UNDUPLICATED HOUSEHOLDS, INCLUDING 86 UNDUPLICATED HOUSEHOLDS WITH PRESCHOOL CHILDREN AND 39 UNDUPLICATED HOUSEHOLDS WITH SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN. THE AGENCY PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO CHILD CARE PROVIDERS TO INCREASE THE QUALITY OF CHILD CARE SERVICES. CCC STAFF PROVIDED THESE SERVICES TO 38 INFANT-TODDLER CLASSROOMS, 19 PRESCHOOL CLASSROOMS, 13 FAMILY CHILD CARE HOMES, AND 11 SCHOOL-AGE CLASSROOMS FOR A TOTAL OF 81 CLASSROOMS. CCC SPECIALISTS ALSO CONDUCTED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAININGS FOR AREA CHILD CARE PROVIDERS IN LICENSED PROGRAMS. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 199 TRAINING CLASSES WERE CONDUCTED FOR CENTER PROVIDERS AND 10 TRAININGS SPECIFICALLY FOR FAMILY CHILD CARE HOMES FOR A TOTAL OF 209 TRAINING CLASSES.
