THE SCDA FOUNDATION BOARD THROUGH GENEROUS DONATIONS BY SOME OF OUR MEMBERS, MEMORIALS, SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISERS, AND SPONSORSHIPS BY SUPPORTING ORGANIZATIONS IS ABLE TO FUND MANY SCHOLARSHIPS OF FUTURE DENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS. IN 2023, THE SCDA FOUNDATION BOARD DONATED 34 SCHOLARSHIPS TO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA (MUSC ) DENTAL STUDENTS. OUR SOUTH CAROLINA CODA-ACCREDITED TECHNICAL SCHOOLS NOMINATED 4 DENTAL ASSISTING AND 5 HYGIENE STUDENTS WHICH WERE AWARDED THE MARY CLARY MEMORIAL AWARDS, AN AWARD NAMED FOR MRS. MARY CLARY, THE LONG-TERM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SCDA, BECAUSE OF HER DEDICATION TO DENTISTRY AND HER GRANDDAUGHTER IS A HYGIENIST.THE SCDA FOUNDATION BOARD ALSO AWARDED 4 DENTAL ASSISTING AND 4 HYGIENE CODA-ACCREDITED SOUTH CAROLINA TECHNICAL SCHOOLS AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENT'S BASED ON FINANCIAL NEED AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND THE COMMITTED HYGIENE AWARD IS ALSO A NEED BASE AWARDS WHICH 2 STUDENTS WERE NOMINATED AND AWARDED THIS YEAR.
