STUDENTS OF FOUR PERFORMING ENSEMBLES PERFORMED AN ANNUAL WINTER CONCERT ON DECEMBER 11, 2023 AND A SPRING CONCERT ON MAY 4, 2024. MEMBERS OF THE YOUTH ORCHESTRA COLLABORATED WITH THE APPALACHIAN CHILDREN'S CHORUS, CHILDREN'S THEATER OF CHARLESTON, AND THE RIVER CITIES BALLET ENSEMBLE IN A PRODUCTION OF THE LITTLE MERMAID ON MARCH 19, 2024. THE CHAMBER ENSEMBLE PROGRAM PROVIDED ADDITIONAL INCOME TO 8 CHAMBER COACHES FROM OCTOBER THROUGH APRIL, SERVING 27 STUDENTS, AND ENDED WITH A CHAMBER CONCERT ON MARCH 17, 2024. SECTIONAL COACHING WAS UTILIZED, PROVIDING SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME TO 15 HIGHLY SKILLED, LOCAL PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS MULTIPLE TIMES DURING THE YEAR. THE YEAR ENDED WITH ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCES AT SYMPHONY SUNDAY ON JUNE 2, FOLLOWED BY A WEEK-LONG DAY CAMP FOR BEGINNER STRINGS STUDENTS, JUNE 17-21. IN TOTAL, 104 STUDENT MUSICIANS SERVED, 15 PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS EMPLOYED. APPROXIMATELY 1,500 LIVE CONCERT ATTENDEES ENJOYED THESE PERFORMANCES DURING THE 2023-24 SEASON.
