THE PROGRAMS OF THE PYO PROVIDE MUSIC EDUCATION AND PERFORMANCE OPPOPTUNITIES TO STUDENTS IN THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA REGION IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022, THE PYO HAD THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM ACTIVITIES: PHILADELPHIA YOUTH ORCHESTRA (112 STUDENTS) PHILADELPHIA YOUNG ARTISTS ORCHESTRA (105 STUDENTS) YOUNG MUSICIANS DEBUT ORCHESTRA (68 STUDENTS) BRAVO BRASS (20 STUDENTS) PHILADELPHIA REGION YOUTH PRYSM STRINGS (66 STUDENTS) THE PYO 2021-2022 PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE CONSISTED PRIMARILY OF PERFORMANCE ACTIVITIES. IN ORDER TO ATTRACT AND RETAIN THE BEST STUDENT MUSICIANS, PYO OFFERS A TUITION FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM TO STUDENTS THAT DEMONSTRATE TALENT, BUT DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCIAL WHEREWITHAL TO PAY THE FULL TUITION. IN 2021-2022, THE ORCHESTRA PROVIDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $111,289.
IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022, TUNE UP PHILLY HAD 120 STUDENTS. THE TUNE UP PHILLY 2021-2022 PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE CONSISTED OF VIRTUAL PERFORMANCE ACTIVITIES. TUNE UP PHILLY STUDENTS RECEIVE FULL TUITION FINANCIAL AID.
THE ORCHESTRA IS REGISTERED AS AN EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT ORGANIZATION (EIO) AND AN OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP TAX CREDIT (OSTC) AGENCY UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA'S EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT TAX CREDIT (EITC) PROGRAM. THE ORCHESTRA PROVIDED 9 OSTC SCHOLARSHIPS UNDER THIS PROGRAM IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022.
