THESE CHARITIES ALL HELP STRENGTHEN AMERICAN CIVIL SOCIETY BY PROMOTING PRIVATE INITIATIVES RATHER THAN GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS AS THE SOLUTION TO THE MOST PRESSING ISSUES OF THE DAY IN THE AREAS OF SOCIAL WELFARE, HEALTH, THE ENVIRONMENT, ECONOMICS, GOVERNANCE, FOREIGN RELATIONS, AND ARTS AND CULTURE. SUPPORTED CHARITIES WILL ALSO ENCOURAGE PRIVATE PHILANTHROPY AND INDIVIDUAL GIVING AS OPPOSED TO GOVERNMENTAL SOLUTIONS TO SOCIETY'S PROBLEMS.
