NEXT STEP PROGRAM - PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH THE RESOURCES THEY NEED TO CREATE AND CARRY OUT THE COLLEGE, VOCATIONAL SCHOOL, OR CAREER PLAN THAT WILL HELP THEM LEAD MEANINGFUL, PRODUCTIVE, AND SUCCESSFUL LIVES AFTER HIGH SCHOOL.
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM INVOLVES MULTIPLE AGE GROUPS FROM ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL, VOLUNTEERS, TEACHERS, AND 4-H AND COMMUNITY LEADERS AND OFFERS HEALTHY AND DIVERSE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OUTSIDE THE TRADITIONAL SCHOOL DAY.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS AWARDED TO RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS
OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE STARFISH MENTORING PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING SUPPORT FOR RAPPAHANNOCK CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 6 AND 17 TO PROVIDE THE VITAL SUPPORT THAT MANY CHILDREN NEED IN MEETING THE SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND ACADEMIC CHALLENGES OF CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE; THE FARM-TO-TABLE PROGRAM - ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO BE GOOD STEWARDS OF THE EARTH AND PRODUCTIVE COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH STUDY OF HORTICULTURE AND NUTRITION, CULTIVATION OF SCHOOL GARDENS, AND HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE AT LOCAL FAMILY FARMS; THE READ PROGRAM PROVIDING ON-SITE TUTORING TO GRADE SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH A PRIMARY FOCUS ON READING SKILLS, AND VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS AWARDED TO RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS.
