CDC COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT TO IMPROVE INTERACTION BETWEEN PUBLIC HEALTH ACADEMICIANS AND WORKERS.
NON-FEDERAL PROGRAMS:THE PAN AMERICAN HEALTH ORGANIZATIONSTRENGTHENING PUBLIC HEALTH TEACHER TRAINING THE ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS OF PUBLIC HEALTH (ASPPH) AND THE PAN AMERICAN HEALTH ORGANIZATION (PAHO) JOINED EFFORTS AND DEVELOPED AN IMPORTANT AND PRODUCTIVE PARTNERSHIP TO COORDINATE ACTIONS AND COOPERATE TO STRENGTHEN TEACHER TRAINING AND FOR THE JOINT PRODUCTION AND DISSEMINATION OF PUBLIC HEALTH COURSES. ASPPH WILL DEVELOP COURSES FOR THE TRAINING OF EPIDEMIOLOGY FOR HEALTH SERVICES AND SYSTEMS WITH INCREASING COMPLEXITY LEVELS. FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE TRAINING PLAN, PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGIES ARE REQUIRED THAT FAVOR THE PARTICIPATION OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND ARE FOCUSED ON PROBLEM SOLVING, EPIDEMIOLOGICAL RESEARCH, AND THE USE OF DATA SCIENCE. ASPPH WILL ALSO DEVELOP A REGIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR TEACHING COMPETENCIES IN PUBLIC HEALTH AND A SELF-ASSESSMENT PROGRAM TO STRENGTHEN TEACHER TRAINING.THE ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON FOUNDATION TRANSFORMING ACADEMIA FOR EQUITYASPPH WAS FUNDED BY THE ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT THE TRANSFORMING ACADEMIA FOR EQUITY (TAE) INITIATIVE WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO UNPACK, UNDERSTAND, AND SHAPE THE CONTEXTUAL AND INTERVENING CONDITIONS NECESSARY FOR UNDERREPRESENTED SCHOLARS TO THRIVE PROFESSIONALLY AND PERSONALLYAND IN TURN, BE BETTER ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO AND EXPAND HEALTH EQUITY-RELATED RESEARCH AND EVIDENCE THAT CAN HELP BUILD A CULTURE OF HEALTH. IN SUPPORT OF THIS INITIATIVE, ASPPH IS DEVELOPING A DISSEMINATION STRATEGY FOR THE ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON FOUNDATION'S SEVEN (7) TEAMS REPRESENTING MEMBER SCHOOLS TO DEVELOP A STRATEGIC PLAN FOR TRANSFORMING ACADEMIC SPACES TO BE EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE FOR THE BENEFIT OF FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS, INCLUDING DEVELOPING BEST AND PROMISING PRACTICES AS PART OF ASPPH'S IMPLEMENTATION FOCUS. GLOBAL NETWORK FOR ACADEMIC PUBLIC HEALTHTHE GLOBAL NETWORK FOR ACADEMIC PUBLIC HEALTH (GNAPH) IS AN ALLIANCE OF SEVEN REGIONAL ASSOCIATIONS THAT REPRESENT SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS OF PUBLIC HEALTH WORLDWIDE. OUR PURPOSE IS TO ENHANCE ACADEMIC PUBLIC HEALTH WORLDWIDE THROUGH MUTUAL LEARNING AND COLLABORATIONS BETWEEN ACADEMIC PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTIONS GLOBALLY IN ORDER TO IMPROVE AND PROTECT THE HEALTH OF PEOPLE AND THE PLANET.
