THE AMERICAN COUNSELING ASSOCIATION IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT, PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION THAT IS DEDICATED TO THE GROWTH AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE COUNSELING PROFESSION. FOUNDED IN 1952, ACA IS THE WORLD'S LARGEST ASSOCIATION EXCLUSIVELY REPRESENTING COUNSELORS IN VARIOUS PRACTICE SETTINGS.

SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PUBLICATIONS:TWELVE ISSUES OF COUNSELING TODAY, ACA'S FLAGSHIP PUBLICATION, AND FOUR ISSUES OF ACA'S JOURNAL OF COUNSELING AND DEVELOPMENT WERE PUBLISHED AND DISTRIBUTED TO 58,000 MEMBERS AS WELL AS INSTITUTIONS AND LIBRARIES. ACA OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF PUBLICATIONS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO SUPPORT THE COUNSELING PROFESSION. SALES OF ACA BOOKS BENEFIT COUNTLESS COUNSELING PROFESSIONALS AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC BY SHARING KNOWLEDGE AND INSIGHTS REGARDING MENTAL HEALTH, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, ADDICTION, PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND MORE.
MEMBERSHIP:RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION OF COUNSELING PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE REQUIRED TO ABIDE BY THE ACA CODE OF ETHICS. THE EVENT ATTRACTS NEARLY 5,000 MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS WHO COME TO DEVELOP THEIR CAREERS, ADVANCE THE COUNSELING FIELD AND PROMOTE HUMAN DIGNITY.
