THE NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL TRANSPORTATION LEAGUE'S MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THE VIEWS OF SHIPPERS AND SUPPLIERS ON FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION ISSUES AND ENHANCE THEIR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. DUES ARE COLLECTED FROM MEMBERS IN EXCHANGE FOR INFORMATION AND OTHER SOURCES, AND FEDERAL ADVOCACY ON ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO SHIPPERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS.

COMMITTEES HOLD ADMINISTRATIVE AND EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS FOR THE BENEFIT OF MEMBERS WITH RESPECT TO VARIOUS TOPICS INCLUDING PENDING FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ACTIVITY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES WEBINARS, WEEKLY EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS TO ITS MEMBERS, AND HOLD AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE.


FMC PETITION- NITL HAS JOINED A COALITION OF ORGANIZATIONS TO REQUEST THAT THE FEDERAL MARITIME COMMISSION ADDRESS DETENTION AND DEMURRAGE PRACTICES AT U.S. PORTS.


EP 711 IS A PROPOSED RULEMAKING THROUGH THE SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BOARD ADDRESSING POTENTIAL CHANGES TO COMPETITIVE RAIL SWITCHING.
