THE COUNCIL CONDUCTS A BROAD-BASED ADVOCACY PROGRAM TO EDUCATE AND INFORM MEMBERS ON IMPORTANT ISSUES, PUBLIC POLICY AND REGULATORY ISSUES THAT IMPACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGY SERVICE CONTRACTORS AND THE GOVERNMENT. THE COUNCIL PROVIDES VARIOUS ACTIVITIES TO ACCOMPLISH THIS OBJECTIVE WHICH INCLUDE:PSC'S FIVE COUNCILS:1. THE ACQUISITION AND BUSINESS POLICY COUNCIL DEVELOPS PSC'S POSITION AND TAKES ACTION ON MAJOR PROCUREMENT, COST CUTTING AND ACQUISITION POLICY ISSUES.2. THE TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL DEVELOPS PSC'S POSITIONS AND TAKES ACTION ON HOW TECHNOLOGY IS CHANGING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT MARKETPLACE AND PROMOTES THE USE OF INNOVATION AND COMMERCIAL BEST PRACTICES.3. THE COUNCIL OF INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES IS PSC'S ADVOCACY PLATFORM FOR U.S. DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES TO PURSUE THOUGHT LEADERSHIP AND DIALOGUE WITH THE USAID AND OTHER AGENCIES.4. THE DEFENSE AND INTELLIGENCE COUNCIL COORDINATES PSC'S ACTIVITIES RELATING TO THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY, THE MILITARY SERVICES AND OTHER DEFENSE COMMANDS AND COMPONENTS.5. THE CIVILIAN AGENCIES COUNCIL FOCUSES ON THE ACQUISITION POLICIES AND STRATEGIES OF THE CIVILIAN AGENCIES, INCLUDING HOMELAND SECURITY, VETERANS' AFFAIRS, ENERGY AND HEALTH.OTHER PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:1.
