THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE INCLUDES COORDINATING AND HARMONIZING THE ACTIVITIES OF ITS AFFILIATED UNIONS, PROMOTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ALL BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADES UNIONS, FOSTERING AND DEVELOPING THE ORGANIZATION OF BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADESPERSONS AND THE TRAINING OF RELATED APPRENTICES, PROMOTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADESPERSONS, MAINTAINING THE HISTORICAL FUNCTION AND JURISDICTION OF THE DEPARTMENT, SECURING THE ADJUSTMENT OF TRADE AND JURISDICTIONAL DISPUTES IN THE BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADES INDUSTRY, ENCOURAGING LOCAL BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCILS, PROMOTING INDUSTRIAL PEACE, AIDING ALL AFFILIATED UNIONS IN SECURING IMPROVED WAGES, HOURS, AND WORKING CONDITIONS THROUGH THE PROCESS OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING, ENGAGING IN LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING AND PROTECTING THE INTEREST OF BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADES UNIONS AND THEIR MEMBERS.
