THE PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS & PARAMEDICS ASSOCIATION OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY LOCAL 1619 OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS (THE LOCAL) IS DEDICATED TO ENSURING THAT OUR MEMBERS ARE PROVIDED WITH ALL OF THE TOOLS THAT THEY REQUIRE TO ENSURE THAT THE CITIZENS AND VISITORS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY RECEIVE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE AND TRANSPORTATION, FIRE PROTECTION, HAZARDOUS MATERIAL MITIGATION, AND TECHNICAL RESCUE SERVICES.

THE PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS & PARAMEDICS ASSOCIATION OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY LOCAL 1619 OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS (THE LOCAL) IS A LABOR ORGANIZATION REPRESENTING FIRE FIGHTERS AND PARAMEDICS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MARYLAND. LOCAL 1619 WAS INCORPORATED IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND ON DECEMBER 1, 1969, AND CURRENTLY REPRESENTS APPROXIMATELY 1,300 PERSONNEL. THE MEMBERS OF LOCAL 1619 RESPOND TO OVER 100,000 EMERGENCY CALLS PER ANNUM, PROTECTING APPROXIMATELY 500 SQUARE MILES, AND SERVING MORE THAN 850,000 CITIZENS. OUR PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS, AND PARAMEDICS PROVIDE FULL TIME PROTECTION AT TWENTY-SIX OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY'S FORTY-FOUR FIRE AND EMS STATIONS, AND DAYTIME PROTECTION AT THIRTEEN ADDITIONAL FIRE AND EMS STATIONS. IN ADDITION, OUR MEMBERS CURRENTLY STAFF ALL OF THE MOBILE INTENSIVE CARE UNITS (ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT UNITS) IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. ADDITIONAL SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE FIRE PREVENTION AND INVESTIGATIONS, THE BOMB SQUAD, THE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TEAM, PUBLIC EDUCATION, AND ALL OF THE ADMINSTRATIVE AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT SERVICES THAT COMPRISE THE BACKBONE OF OUR FIRE AND EMS DEPARTMENT. OUR ASSOCIATION IS DEDICATED TO ENSURING THAT OUR MEMBERS ARE PROVIDED WITH ALL OF THE TOOLS THAT THEY REQUIRE TO ENSURE THAT THE CITIZENS AND VISITORS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY RECEIVE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE AND TRANSPORTATION, FIRE PROTECTION, HAZARDOUS MATERIAL MITIGATION, AND TECHNICAL RESCUE SERVICES. THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS AND PARAMEDICS ASSOCIATION IS THE EXCLUSIVE BARGAINING AGENT RESPRESENTING THE FIRE FIGHTERS, PARAMEDICS, AND CIVILIAN MEMBERS OF THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY FIRE AND EMS DEPARTMENT. OUR ORGANIZATION PROMOTES A SAFE AND HEALTHY WORKING ENVIRONMENT FOR ITS MEMBERS BY THE ESTABLISHMENT OF JUST AND REASONABLE WORKING CONDITIONS.
