CARVER CENTER FOUNDATION PROVIDES FUNDING SUPPORT FOR STUDENT GRANTS, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND AWARDS, FOR STUDENT PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES, AND FOR FACULTY ENRICHMENT, AS WELL AS FOR THE PURCHASE OF CLASSROOM FURNISHINGS AND EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS AND STUDENT "PRIMES," ALL WITH THE AIM OF FURTHERING THE EDUCATIONAL MISSION AND PROGRAMS OF GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER CENTER FOR ARTS & TECHNOLOGY. IN THE MOST RECENTLY COMPLETED FISCAL YEAR, THIS SUPPORT HAS INCLUDED (BUT HAS BY NO MEANS BEEN LIMITED TO) PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION FOR COSMETOLOGY STUDENTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL BEAUTY SHOW IN NEW YORK; COVERING THE REGISTRATION FEES FOR DANCE STUDENTS TO ATTEND THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL DANCE FESTIVAL; HELPING COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS/UPGRADES TO CARVER CENTER'S KITCHEN FACILITIES TO ENABLE CULINARY STUDENTS TO RESUME ACTIVITIES DISRUPTED BY COVID; REPLACING THE CARVER CENTER THEATER'S SERIOUSLY OUTDATED COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, WHICH DIRECTLY BENEFITED ACTING STUDENTS, THEATER DESIGN & PRODUCTION STUDENTS, VOCAL MUSIC STUDENTS, AND DIGITAL INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC STUDENTS; PURCHASING AND DONATING 100 TABLES TO ENABLE ALL CARVER STUDENTS TO TAKE AP EXAMS WITH CONSIDERABLY LESS STRESS AND WITHOUT MAJOR DISRUPTION TO OTHER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES; COVERING THE SUBSTANTIAL COST OF PURCHASING NEW UNIFORMS FOR THE GIRLS SOCCER TEAMS; ONCE AGAIN ORGANIZING AND BEARING 100% OF THE QUITE CONSIDERABLE COST OF A "SAFE AND SOBER" POST-PROM EVENT FOR GRADUATING SENIORS AND THEIR YOUNG GUESTS; HELPING OUR TEACHERS BEAR THE OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS THEY INCUR FOR CLASSROOM ITEMS AND OTHERWISE ORGANIZING AND FUNDING TEACHER APPRECIATION ACTIVITIES OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR; AND GENERALLY PROVIDING FUNDING TO SUPPORT STUDENT HEALTH AND WELFARE.
