IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CHARLES REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, CIVISTA CLINICAL SERVICES, LLC (D/B/A/ UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CHARLES MEDICAL GROUP) CONSISTS OF PHYSICIANS AND ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDERS THAT OFFER PRIMARY CARE AND SPECIALTY SERVICES TO THE RESIDENTS OF CHARLES COUNTY. PRACTICES INCLUDE WOMEN'S HEALTH AND PRIMARY CARE PRACTICE IN LA PLATA, SURGICAL CARE AND GASTROENTEROLOGY PRACTICES IN WALDORF AND LA PLATA, AND A DIABETES AND ENDOCRINOLOGY PRACTICE IN WALDORF.
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CHARLES REGIONAL HEALTH, INC. (UMCRH) IS THE PARENT COMPANY OF A REGIONAL INTEGRATED HEALTH SYSTEM SERVING THE HEALTH NEEDS OF CHARLES COUNTY AND THE CITIZENS OF SOUTHERN MARYLAND. GOVERNANCE IS PROVIDED THROUGH A COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT STRATEGIES ARE INCLUDED IN THE ORGANIZATION'S STRATEGIC PLAN. UMCRH SUPPORTS UM CHARLES REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER (UM CRMC). IN 2021, UM CRMC'S COMMUNITY BENEFITS PROGRAM UTILIZES A PLANNED, MANAGED, ORGANIZED, AND MEASURED APPROACH TO MEETING THE IDENTIFIED COMMUNITY NEEDS OF THE AREA WE SERVE. THE MISSION IS TO IMPROVE OVERALL COMMUNITY HEALTH BY IMPROVING ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE, ENHANCING THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY, ADVANCING HEALTHCARE KNOWLEDGE AND WORKING WITH HEALTH PROVIDING AGENCY PARTNERS. UM CRMC PROVIDED $10 MILLION IN CHARITY CARE, HEALTH PROFESSIONS EDUCATION, COMMUNITY BENEFIT OPERATIONS, COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT SERVICES, SUBSIDIZED HEALTH SERVICES, CASH AND IN-KIND DONATIONS AND COMMUNITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES IN FY 2021.
