U.S. POLICY: THE DIALOGUE'S WORK (ON U.S. POLICY) INCLUDES A RANGE OF PROJECTS AND EVENTS THAT FOCUS ON U.S. POLICY TOWARD LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN GENERALLY, AND TOWARDS SPECIFIC COUNTRIES AND ISSUES. THIS INCLUDES THE DIALOGUE'S PROGRAMS ON THE ANDEAN REGION, BRAZIL, MEXICO, CUBA, AND THE NATIONS OF CENTRAL AMERICA; ON U.S.-LATIN AMERICAN TRADE NEGOTIATIONS; AND ON THE U.S. PARTICIPATION IN INTER-AMERICAN INSTITUTIONS.
EDUCATION: THE INTER-AMERICAN DIALOGUE'S EDUCATION PROGRAM AIMS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LEARNING AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT ACROSS LATIN AMERICA. WE DO SO BY PARTNERING WITH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE HEMISPHERE TO PROMOTE INFORMED DEBATE ON EDUCATION POLICY, IDENTIFY AND DISSEMINATE BEST PRACTICES, AND MONITOR PROGRESS TOWARD IMPROVEMENT. THE EDUCATION PROGRAM'S ANALYSIS OF EDUCATION POLICY AND ITS BROAD NETWORK OF POLICYMAKERS, EDUCATION EXPERTS, BUSINESS LEADERS, ACADEMICS, AND JOURNALISTS HAVE MADE IT THE STRONGEST PRIVATE VOICE ON EDUCATION IN THE REGION.
RULE OF LAW: THE INTER-AMERICAN DIALOGUE'S PETER D. BELL RULE OF LAW PROGRAM AIMS TO ELEVATE POLICY DISCUSSIONS AROUND HUMAN RIGHTS, DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS, GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY, CIVIL SOCIETY ENGAGEMENT, AND HEMISPHERIC COOPERATION.THE PROGRAM WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2015 TO HONOR PETER D. BELL, A FOUNDING CO-CHAIR OF THE DIALOGUE'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS, WITH SUPPORT OF THE FORD FOUNDATION. THE BROAD SCOPE AND AMBITIONS OF THE PROGRAM ARE A FITTING TRIBUTE TO PETER'S EXPANSIVE CAREER AS A TIRELESS CHAMPION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, DEMOCRACY, AND INTEGRATION AMONG THE COUNTRIES OF THE AMERICAS.
