THE NFRC SERVES THE PUBLIC BY DRIVING WIDESPREAD USAGE OF FAIR, ACCURATE AND CREDIBLE ENERGY PERFORMANCE RATINGS, SERVES MEMBERS BY GIVING THEM A VOICE IN THE RATINGS DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, AND SERVES THE INDUSTRY BY CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT OF COMPETITION THAT DRIVES ENERGY PERFORMANCE.

PRODUCT CERTIFICTION PROGRAM: THE COUNCIL'S PRODUCT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (PCP) ESTABLISHES THE STANDARDS FOR DETERMINING FENESTRATION ENERGY PERFORMANCE. ALL MANUFACTURES ADHERE TO THE SAME STANDARDS, AND THIS PROTECTS CONSUMERS BY ASSURING THEM THE RATINGS THEY SEE ON THE COUNCILS LABEL ARE FAIR, ACCURATE, AND CREDIBLE.


THE EWC PROVIDES UNBIASED INFORMATION AND EDUCATION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY, TECHNICAL, AND HUMAN CONSIDERATIONS THAT INFLUENCE WINDOW SELECTION AND USE. THE EWC COLLABORATES WITH ALLIED ORGANIZATIONS, EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES THAT PROMOTE ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN RESIDENTIAL WINDOWS


THE FENESTAR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM: NFRC'S PROGRAM FOR ENERGY STAR PRODUCT CERTIFICATION. NFRC WILL BE A FULLY ACCREDITED CERTIFICATION BODY FOR THE ENERGY STAR WINDOW, DOOR, AND SKYLIGHT PROGRAM AND WILL VERIFY THE PERFORMANCE RATINGS OF ENERGY STAR QUALIFIED PRODUCTS. IT ENSURES THAT ENERGY STAR PRODUCTS CONTINUE TO PERFORM IN THE MARKETPLACE AS ORIGIONALLY DESIGNED AND CERTIFIED.


COMPONENT MODELING APPROACH: THE COUNCIL'S COMPONENT MODELING APPROACH (CMA) PROGRAM PROVIDES FENESTRATION ENERGY PERFORMANCE RATINGS FOR COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS. BY DRAWING FROM ITS DATABASE OF PRE-APPROVED GLAZING, FRAMES, AND SPACERS, DESIGN PROFESSIONALS CAN MIX-AND-MATCH THESE COMPONENTS UNTIL THEY FIND THE ENERGY PERFORMANCE VALUES FOR WHICH THEY ARE LOOKING.
