THE LOCKHOUSE MUSEUM SERVES TO PRESEVE AND TEACH THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF HAVRE DE GRACE WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON THE SUSQUEHANNA AND TIDEWATER CANAL. VISITORS NUMBER APPROXIMATELY 14,000 ANNUALLY FOR MUSEUM PROGRAMS PLUB PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES IN THE STATES OF MARYLAND, PENNSYLVANIA, AND VIRGINIA. THE MUSEUM HOSTS MANY PUBLIC EVENTS ANNUALLY AND SERVES AS A HISTORICAL RESEARCH AND ARCHIVE FACILITY.
MAINTENANCE OF LOCKHOUSE BUILDING LOCATED NEXT TO THE SUSQUEHANNA RIVER IN HAVRE DE GRACE, MARYLAND. NEW PLANS AND GRANTS HAVE BEEN APPLIED FOR TO CONTINUE LOCK RESTORATION IN THE CANAL.
