ADVOCACY:MAIN OUTCOMES:OVER THE PAST YEAR REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVED THE FOLLOWING AS A RESULT OF OUR REPORTING AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS:IN 2023 REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL CONTINUED TO URGE THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION TO IMPROVE THE U.S. PAROLE POLICY. AS A RESULT OF THESE EFFORTS IN AUGUST, DHS ANNOUNCED IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HAITI AND CUBA FAMILY UNIFICATION PROGRAMS IN LINE WITH CHANGES REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL RECOMMENDED. ADDITIONALLY, REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL ENGAGED WITH SENIOR BIDEN ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS FOLLOWING THE OUTBREAK OF WAR IN SUDAN AND THE MIDDLE EAST TO ADVOCATE FOR CONTINUED LIFE SAVING HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE.IN 2023, REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL WAS PROUD TO WELCOME ITS FIRST-EVER COHORT OF SIX REFUGEE FELLOWS FROM AROUND THE WORLD WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP QUALITIES AND CAPABILITIES IN GLOBAL ADVOCACY AND HAVE LIVED EXPERIENCE OF FORCED DISPLACEMENT. REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL HELPED DRIVE TANGIBLE PROGRESS ON LOCALIZATION OF HUMANITARIAN AID IN UKRAINE AND UNLOCKED TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR LOCAL PARTNERS WITH THE FORMATION OF THE UKRAINE HUMANITARIAN ALLIANCE, A NEW NETWORK OF MAJOR UKRAINIAN NGOS THAT LAUNCHED IN SEPTEMBER.
STRATEGIC OUTREACH (INCLUDES PUBLIC EDUCATION):REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL ENGAGED IN A WIDE RANGE OF PUBLIC EDUCATION ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES THROUGHOUT 2023. THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCED 184 RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY PRODUCTS, INCLUDING 24 REPORTS AND BRIEFS, 22 OP-EDS, 24 COMMENTARIES, 75 STATEMENTS, AND 20 ADVOCACY LETTERS. TRAFFIC TO REFUGEE INTERNATIONAL'S WEBSITE REMAINED HIGH WITH OVER 271,000 USERS VISITING OUR WEBSITE. REFUGEES INTERNATIONAL'S SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE ALSO GREW, HAVING GAINED OVER 1,200 FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM AND OVER 11,000 ON LINKEDIN SEEING OUR FOLLOWING INCREASE BY OVER 16% ON LINKEDIN.
