SEEKING TO PUT GOD'S LOVE INTO ACTION, CDHFH BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER TO BUILD AFFORDABLE HOMES, COMMUNITIES, AND HOPE.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
IN 2021, THREE LOW-INCOME FAMILIES ACHIEVED HOMEOWNERSHIP THROUGH CDHFH'S HOUSING PROGRAM AND THREE WERE IN PROCESS AT YEAR END. THESE HOMES WERE BUILT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FUTURE HOMEOWNER EARNING THEIR SWEAT EQUITY HOURS, BUT ALSO IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE KENT COUNTY COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE VOLUNTEER LABOR AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT. CDHFH'S PROGRAM IS CONSIDERED "A HAND UP, NOT A HAND OUT." SEE SCHEDULE O FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON OUR PROGRAM. CONSTRUCTED HOMES ARE SOLD TO THE SELECTED FAMILIES AT COST WITH A ZERO PERCENT INTEREST MORTGAGE. MORTGAGE PAYMENTS ARE THEN PAID TO CDHFH TO CONTINUE TO HELP FUND FUTURE HOMES.
