SEWARD NEIGHBORHOOD GROUP STRIVES TO STRENGTHEN CIVIC PARTICIPATION IN SEWARD BY ENGAGING, INVOLVING, AND CONNECTING A BROAD RANGE OF STAKEHOLDERS THROUGH FOUR OVERARCHING GOALS: EQUITY, OPERATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY, ENGAGEMENT, COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE.

PUBLICIZING AND HOLDING OVER 60 COMMUNITY MEETINGS WITH AN AVERAGE OF 15 PEOPLE ATTENDING EACH MEETING, FOCUSED ON NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT ISSUES SUCH AS VARIANCES AND LICENSING, NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY CONCERNS, RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS, WORKING WITH RENTERS, INFRASTRUCTURE AND OTHER ISSUES THAT ARISE IN SEWARD NEIGHBORHOOD. SNG WORKS ON CRIME PREVENTION AND COMMUNITY BUILDING INITIATIVES, WORKING WITH RENTERS, INFRASTRUCTURE AND OTHER ISSUES SUPPORTS EACH OTHER. PROGRAMS INCLUDE SPRING GARAGE SALES DAYS,GARDEN TOUR, WINTER FROLIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL, BIENNIAL FALL FESTIVAL, AND THE ACTIVITIES OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY BUILDING, ENVIRONMENT, HISTORY AND CRIME AND SAFETY COMMITTEES
