FY 2022, RIF OF NOVA WORKED WITH MORE THAN 20,000 INFANTS-ADULTS AT 37 SITES THAT INCLUDED COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC-SCHOOL INFANT AND PARENT PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY AND HEAD START PRE-K PROGRAMS, COUNTY HEALTH CENTERS SERVING FAMILIES, AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS SERVING STUDENTS IN PRE-K THROUGH GRADE 8 IN THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA AND THE COUNTIES OF ARLINGTON, FAIRFAX, AND PRINCE WILLIAM. THROUGH THE CONTRACT PURCHASES, PRIVATE MONETARY AND NEW BOOK DONATIONS, CLOSE TO 40,000 PAPERBACK BOOKS WERE DISTRIBUTED, WITH STUDENT AT 11 SITES RECEIVING TWO OR MORE NEW BOOKS. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MET FORMALLY 5 TIMES VIA ZOOM THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO FOCUS ON THE SCHEDULING AND FORMATTING OF BOOK DISTRIBUTIONS, FUNDRAISING PROJECTS, THE DISTRIBUTION OF GRANT/GIFT MONIES, AND TO PLAN FOR THE FUTURE OF THE PROGRAM. DUE TO COVID MITIGATION RESTRAINTS, MANY ONSITE BOOK DISTRIBUTIONS WERE HELD OUTDOORS, AND ONLINE METHODOLOGY WAS USED APRIL-JUNE 2022 TO ENGAGE THE LIAISONS IN THE WORK NECESSARY TO ENSURE BOOK ORDERING FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.
