INTERNSHIP/MENTORSHIP GRANTS AND AWARDS. THIS PROGRAM ENCOMPASSES THE FOLLOWING: THE WALTER GRANT PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO DIVERSE CREATORS WHO ARE CURRENTLY UNPUBLISHED. THE INTERNSHIP GRANTS SUPPORT DIVERSE COLLEGE STUDENTS PURSUING A CAREER IN PUBLISHING. THE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM PAIRS ASPIRING CREATORS WITH PROFESSIONAL AUTHORS TO HELP THEM GET PUBLISHED.
AWARDS AND GRANTS. THIS PROGRAM ENCOMPASSES THE ANNUAL WALTER DEAN MYERS AWARDS THAT RECOGNIZES EXCELLENCE IN DIVERSE CHILDREN'S LITERATURE AND THAT'S HELD ANNUALLY IN WASHINGTON, DC.
