THE QUAY COUNTY HEALTH COUNCIL IS A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE WORKING TOGETHER TO PROMOTE POSITIVE CHANGES IN ALL ASPECTS OF HEALTH AND WELL-BEING FOR ALL QUAY COUNTY RESIDENTS. AREAS OF FOCUS INCLUDE SUICIDE PREVENTION, SUBSTANCE MISUSE PREVENTION AND HARM REDUCTION, HEALTHY EATING, ACTIVE LIVING, HEALTH EQUITY AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH AROUND HEALTH. THE COUNCIL'S WORK IS AUTHORIZED THROUGH THE 2019 NM COUNTY AND TRIBAL HEALTH CARE ACT (HB137) TO CONDUCT COMMUNITY-BASED RESEARCH, PLANNING, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, SYSTEMS-CHANGE AND POLICY EFFORTS. WE SERVE APPROXIMATELY 4,500 PEOPLE A YEAR.
