PROVIDE FOOD AND ESSENTIAL HYGIENE ITEMS TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS DEALING WITH FOOD INSECURITY ISSUES SO THAT THEY MAY USE THEIR FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR SHELTER, UTILITIES AND OTHER NECESSITIES, AND AVOID BECOMING HOMELESS.

THE FOCUS FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM SERVED 5,059 HOUSEHOLDS WITH 15,794 INDIVIDUALS WITH AT LEAST A WEEK'S FOOD, 21 MEALS PER PERSON AT EACH MONTHLY VISIT. WE CONTINUED OUR COLLABORATION WITH FEEDING AMERICA OF EASTERN WISCONSIN BY USING THEIR DIRECT CONNECT PROGRAM WHICH ALLOWED US TO DISTRIBUTE 222,559 ADDITIONAL POUNDS OF FOOD WITH 74,068 POUNDS OF FRESH PRODUCE TO THE HOUSEHOLDS SERVED. IN ADDITION WE COLLECTED AND DISTRIBUTED 426,588 POUNDS OF DONATED FOOD FROM THE COMMUNITY AND OTHER FREE SOURCES TO THE HOUSEHOLDS WE SERVE. ALSO IN 2021, WE WORKED WITH FEEDING AMERICA AND THE USDA TO HOST 17 FARMERS TO FAMILIES MOBILE FOOD PANTRIES WHICH PROVIDED 534,455 POUNDS OF FOOD TO THE COMMUNITY SERVING 18,274 HOUSEHOLDS.
THE FOCUS COMMUNITY MEAL PROGRAM PROVIDES FREE MEALS TO ANYONE IN NEED OF A MEAL OR A CONNECTION TO OUR COMMUNITY. IN NON-PANDEMIC TIMES WE OFFER A MEAL EVERY THURSDAY AND THE LAST 2 TUESDAYS OF EACH MONTH. WE TYPICALLY SERVE ABOUT 175 MEALS DURING OUR EAT IN MEALS AND HAVE BEEN SERVING ABOUT 135 MEALS DURING THE PANDEMIC AS TAKE-OUT MEALS ON EACH THURSDAY.
THE RAPIDS FAMILY BACKPACKS PROGRAM PROVIDES NUTRITIOUS WEEKEND MEALS IN A DISCRETE BACKPACK FOR WISCONSIN RAPIDS PUBLIC SCHOOL FAMILIES FACING HUNGER. DURING 2021 AN AVERAGE OF 82 BACKPACKS WERE PACKED EACH WEEK THAT IN TOTAL PROVIDE OVER 12,100 MEALS FOR THE COMMUNITY.
