HOSPICE OF ST. FRANCIS D/B/A ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS LIFESTAGE CARE, IS A NFP RESOURCE FOR BREVARD COUNTY, WHICH IS 72 MILES LONG. ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS LIFESTAGE CARE HAS TWO LOCATIONS TO COVER THE EXTENT OF THIS LENGTHY GEOGRAPHY. IN ADDITION TO THE ROBUST COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROVIDED BY ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS LIFESTAGE CARE, THE HOSPICE OF ST. FRANCIS FOUNDATION D/B/A ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS FOUNDATION, REACHES OUT THROUGH DIRECT MAILINGS, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND WEBSITE OFFERINGS TO EXPAND COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE AND ENCOURAGE SUPPORT OF OUR PROGRAMS. WE FIND THAT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD A HOSPICE EXPERIENCE IN SOME WAY, WHICH POTENTIATES SUPPORT. HOWEVER MANY PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A BROAD UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCOPE OF HOSPICE CARE. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS LIFESTAGE CARE OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES INCLUDING PALLIATIVE CARE FOR THOSE WHO AS SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC ILLNESS BUT STILL SEEKING CURATIVE CARE, TO HOSPICE SERVICES, TO BEREAVEMENT CARE FOR BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN, BEFORE, DURING AND LONG AFTER A LOSS OCCURS. IN 2020 THE PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE PROGRAM BEGAN TO PROVIDE CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH LIFE LIMITING ILLNESSES, THE FIRST PROGRAM OF THE KIND IN BREVARD COUNTY.
ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS FOUNDATION SUPPORTS AND PROMOTES THE MISSION OF ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS LIFESTAGE CARES, UPLIFTING LIVES. UPLIFTING EACH OTHER. UPLIFTING OUR COMMUNITY. DURING THIS YEAR, THE FOUNDATION HOSTED ONE SIGNATURE EVENT, LEGENDS: GENEROSITY AWARDS, CENTERED ON RECOGNIZING SEVERAL COMMUNITY LEADERS FOR THEIR WORK IN "GIVING BACK" AS A COMMUNITY CULTURAL VALUE. THIS EVENT RAISED FUNDS FOR THE TE-KISHAS FUND TO HELP PATIENT WITH UNMET NEEDS. DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, EVENT WAS HELD VIRTUAL THIS YEAR.
