THE MISSION OF THE MOTHERS' MILK BANK OF FLORIDA IS TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND HEALING BY COLLECTING, PROCESSING AND DISTRIBUTING PASTEURIZED DONOR HUMAN MILK WHEN MILK FROM THE BABY'S OWN MOTHER IS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE PRIMARY SERVICES OF THE CORPORATION ARE TO: - PROMOTE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE BENEFITS OF HUMAN DONOR MILK FOR PREMATURE AND ILL INFANTS;- ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE BREASTFEEDING IN CENTRAL FLORIDA AREA AND THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF FLORIDA;- INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE BENEFITS OF BREASTFEEDING AND BREAST MILK FOR ALL BABIES;- ACCEPT, PASTEURIZE AND DISPENSE DONOR HUMAN MILK BY HEALTH CARE PROVIDER PRESCRIPTION; - ENCOURAGE RESEARCH TO ENHANCE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE USE OF HUMAN DONOR MILK;- ASSURE THAT ALL VULNERABLE INFANTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE HUMAN DONOR MILK WHEN MOTHER'S OWN MILK IS NOT AVAILABLE; AND - RAISE CHARITABLE FUNDS FOR EACH OF THE ABOVE.
