CRISIS INTERVENTION - CHANCE SHELTER CONTINUES TO PROVIDE OUR RESOURCES THROUGH ALLIANCES WITH BANNER DEL WEBB AND BANNER BOSWELL SOCIAL WORKERS TO FOSTER PETS WHILE THEIR OWNERS WERE IN CRISIS SITUATIONS. WE ALSO ASSISTED WITH SOME REFERRALS FROM FUNERAL HOMES AND CARE FACILITIES FOR PETS NEEDING TO BE ADOPTED DUE TO THE OWNERS PASSING WITH NO NEXT OF KIN AVAILABLE TO CARE FOR THE PETS. WE CONTINUE TO ASSIST SURPRISE ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL WITH PETS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO BE ADOPTED. WE OPERATED STRICTLY WITH OUR FOSTERS AND THE HELP OF VOLUNTEERS, AS WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY YET. WE CONTINUE TO EXPAND OUR FOSTER AND VOLUNTEER LISTS TO ACCOMMODATE MORE PETS.WE WERE DEEDED LAND IN 2020 IN ORDER TO BUILD A FACILITY TO ALLOW US TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PETS IN CRISIS THAT WE SERVE.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH & VOLUNTEER PROGRAM - CHANCE SHELTER HAS BEEN A STRONG PART OF MANY COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS. WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED HAVING THE ABILITY TO BE PRESENT AT THE SURPRISE HUMAN SERVICE RESOURCE CENTER TWICE A MONTH. WE ARE A MEMBER OF PORA. WE HAVE ALSO MADE ALLIANCES WITH LEGEND ACRES AND MIDWESTERN UNIVERSITY TO KEEP COSTS DOWN.
