THE ARC OF WEST CENTRAL COLORADO IS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE, RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES, INCLUDING, FOR SUCH PURPOSES, THE MAKING OF DISTRIBUTIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT QUALIFY AS EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS DESCRIBED UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE, OR CORRESPONDING SECTION OF ANY FUTURE FEDERAL CODE.

ARC OF WEST CENTRAL COLORADO(ARCWCCO) PROVIDES ADVOCACY TO PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES(IDD), AGES BIRTH TO DEATH. ARCWCCO PROVIDES FREE ADVICE, CONSULTATIVE MEETINGS,PROTECTING THE RIGHTS AND ACCESS TO SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH IDD. ARCWCCO OFFERS COMPREHENSIVE ADVOCACY WITHIN SCHOOL SYSTEMS, GOVERNMENT, INSURANCE AND OTHER COMMUNITY SYSTEMS AND AGENCIES.IN 2021, THE CLIENT ADVOCACY CASELOAD TOTALLED 53 K-12 DIRECT CONTACT CLIENTS INVOLVING A MINIMUM ADVOCACY OF PARTICIPATING IN CLIENT IEP MEETINGS. FOR ADULTS, THERE WERE 31 DIRECT CONTACT CLIENTS. WE ANTICIPATE CASELOADS CONTINUING TO RISE OVER THE NEXT 3-5 YEARS, BUT ARE HOPEFUL THAT EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY/AGENCIES WILL HELP PEOPLE WITH IDD SELF-ADVOCATE TOWARD TOTAL INDEPENDENCE AS AN ULTIMATE GOAL.
ARCWCCO PROVIDES GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE COMMUNITY AND AGENCY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION TO THE INTERESTED PUBLIC, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, FAMILIES AND CLIENTS.ARCWCCO ATTENDED, HELD, SPONSORED OR CONTRIBUTED TO OVER 15 COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP EVENTS WHICH WERE DOWN FROM 2020 DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC. WE ALSO SCHEDULED COLLABORATIONS, STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS IN REGARDS TO EDUCATION, TRAINING AND OUTREACH. THESE EVENTS HAPPENED IN MULTIPLE TOWNS, INCLUDING NORTH FORK, CEDAREDGE, DELTA, GUNNISON, RIDGEWAY AND MONTROSE. THE ARCWCCO ALSO ATTENDED OVER 3 STATE AND NATIONAL TRAININGS FOR STAFF, ADVOCATES AND BOARD MEMBERS WHICH WAS A REDUCTION FROM PREVIOUS YEAR TO DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC.
