PRO BONO IN-SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR STARS ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL - PATERSON SCHOOL DISTRICT - NEW JERSEY:PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSES: $0REVENUE: $0BRIDGE CONDUCTED A SERIES OF PRO BONO IN-SCHOOL PLAYWRITING WORKSHOPS FOR STARS ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL IN PATERSON, NEW JERSEY. SPECIFICALLY, THE PROGRAM SERVED A SELECT WORLD HISTORY 9TH GRADE CLASS OF 10 SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS. EACH WORKSHOP WAS FACILITATED BY JOE QUINTERO ALONG WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE CLASSROOM TEACHER, SPANNING 6 FORTY-MINUTE SESSIONS; STUDENTS LEARNED ABOUT AND WROTE CHARACTER PROFILES AS WELL AS DIALOGUE WHILE INCORPORATING CONFLICT, RELATIONSHIP, ACTION AND RESOLUTION. UTILIZING THEIR CURRENT UNIT OF STUDY OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AS A LAUNCHING POINT, THEY WERE ABLE TO CREATE A SHORT ONE ACT PLAY THAT ADDRESSED THEIR CONCERN OVER THE INJUSTICES OF CHILD ABUSE IN THE WORK FORCE TODAY.
