THE CORALVILLE COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY IS AN ANTI-HUNGER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION PROVIDING CRITICAL AND INNOVATIVE FOOD ASSISTANCE SERVICES TO THE GREATER CORALVILLE COMMUNITY. WE BELIEVE THAT FOOD IS A HUMAN RIGHT AND THAT FOOD HAS THE POWER TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER. OUR VISION IS TO BUILD A STRONGER, HEALTHIER, AND HUNGER-FREE CORALVILLE COMMUNITY. OUR PRIMARY WORK IS OUR FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES WEEKLY GROCERIES & PERSONAL CARE ITEMS FOR THOUSANDS OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS EACH YEAR. OUR HOME DELIVERY OPTION, WHICH PROVIDES NEARLY 100 DELIVERIES A WEEK, HAS BEEN A CRITICAL LIFELINE FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO LEAVE HOME FOR REASONS RELATED TO HEALTH, MOBILITY, OR EMOTIONAL STRESS. IN 2023, WE PROVIDED 893,548 POUNDS OF FOOD TO 1,690 HOUSEHOLDS REPRESENTING 4,691 PEOPLE. OUR OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE: THE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM, A NEW PROGRAM PAIRING A NUTRITIOUS READY-TO-EAT MEAL WITH ENGAGING ACTIVITIES PROVIDED FOR LOCAL CHILDREN AND YOUTH THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER; THE SCHOOL BREAK NUTRITION PROGRAM, WHICH PROVIDES VITAL GROCERIES TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION; THE FREE COMMUNITY MEAL PROGRAM, WHICH BRINGS COMMUNITY MEMBERS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE TOGETHER TO FREELY ENJOY A HOME-COOKED MEAL AND CONVERSATION; THE COMMUNITY FRIDGE PROGRAM, AN OFF-SITE FOOD ACCESS POINT LOCATED AT THE CORALVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY THAT WE KEEP STOCKED DAILY WITH AN ARRAY OF NOURISHING FOODS; THE SEED LIBRARY, WHICH EMPOWERS OUR NEIGHBORS TO GROW AND EAT HEALTHY FOOD; AND THE VEGGIE CONNECT PROGRAM, WHICH CONNECTS INDIVIDUALS WITH DIET-RELATED DISEASES TO LOCALLY GROWN FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. WE RELY HEAVILY ON INKIND SUPPORT, IN THE FORM OF FOOD AND VOLUNTEERISM, TO FULFILL OUR MISSION OF PROVIDING HOPE AND NOURISHMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY. IN 2023, NEARLY $1.5 MILLION WORTH OF FOOD WAS DONATED FROM VARIOUS COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND INDIVIDUALS.
