OUTDOOR AFRO LEADERSHIP PROGRAM -OUTDOOR AFRO IS NOW THE NATION'S LEADING, CUTTING EDGE NETWORK CONNECTING MORE THAN 55,000 PEOPLE TO OUTDOOR RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES IN 56 CITIES ACROSS THE NATION. WE DO THIS BY TRAINING A COHORT OF NATIONAL LEADERS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS WHO HELP REDEFINE WHAT OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP IS. OUTDOOR AFRO PROGRAMS LEAD FAMILIES IN CAMPING, HIKING, AND PADDLING EXPERIENCE - MANY FOR THE FIRST TIME. OUR PROGRAMS HELP PARTICIPANTS EMBRACE CONSERVATION ETHICS AND MOTIVATE PEOPLE TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF THEMSELVES, OUR COMMUNITY, AND THE PLANET FOR ALL LIVING SPECIES. THIS YEAR, WE HAVE:TRAINED OVER 100 LEADERS TO HELP CONNECT OVER 55,000 PEOPLE TO OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES NATIONALLY.LED THOUSANDS OF JOYOUS EVENTS IN NATURE AND VIRTUALLY, ALL SAFELY DURING A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC.SPONSOR ONGOING MONTHLY OUTDOOR RECREATION AND CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES IN 30 US STATES.OUTDOOR AFRO SWIMMERSHIP PROGRAM -IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE YMCA AND KEEN, OUTDOOR AFRO AWARDED 150 SWIM SCHOLARSHIPS TO CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES THIS YEAR, WITH PLANS TO EXPAND FURTHER NEXT YEAR.
