HEALTHY FOOD IS PROVIDED TO LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS IN SISKIYOU COUNTY 12 TO 24 TIMES PER YEAR DEPENDING ON THEIR LIVING SITUATION. ALL FOOD THAT IS DISTRIBUTED IS FREE TO THOSE IN NEED. WE PROVIDED FOOD TO 2758 INDIVIDUALS IN 2022.
THIS GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA WELLNESS FOUNDATION HELPED US TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THOSE LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS THAT WERE AFFECTED BY COVID-19. WE PURCHASED FOOD TO DISTRUBUTE TO THOSE IN NEED AS WELL AS TENTS, BLANKETS, HATS, GLOVES, SCARVES, SOCKS AND SLEEPING BAGS TO THOSE DISPLACED AND NOW HOMELESS DUE TO COVID-19.
EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER PROGRAM (EFSP) PROVIDED THESE 2 GRANTS TOTALING $30,734.00 FOR THE USE OF PROVIDING FOOD, SHELTER, UTILITIES, ETC. TO ASSIST THOSE AFFECTED BY THE 2022 WILDEFIRES IN SISKIYOU COUNTY AS THERE WERE SEVERAL FIRES.
