THE ORGANIZATION IS A COMMUNITY-BASED FOOD RESCUE ORGANIZATION THAT SERVES AS A CONDUIT FOR FOOD, EDUCATION, AND AWARENESS BETWEEN DONORS, VOLUNTEERS, SERVICE AGENCIES, AND PEOPLE IN NEED.

2021 WAS A YEAR LIKE NO OTHER! COVID-19 CREATED A DAY-TO-DAY CHALLENGE TO OUR HEALTH, FOOD SECURITY AND REALLY HIGHLIGHTED THE BROKEN FOOD SYSTEM THAT EXISTS WORLDWIDE. YET WITH THE HELP AND SUPPORT OF INDIVIDUALS, GRANTORS, CORPORATIONS, FOOD DONORS AND OUR PARTNER AGENCIES WE RESCUED MORE THAN 17 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD PROVIDING OVER 14 MILLION MEALS. WE DISTRIBUTED 13,000 COVID RESPONSE FOOD BOXES, PARTICIPATED IN 3 ROUNDS OF THE USDA FARMS TO FAMILIES PROGRAM; PROVIDING OVER 160,000 FOOD BOXES. WE ALSO BECAME THE FISCAL SPONSOR FOR FARMLINK. THIS IS A GROUP OF COLLEGE STUDENTS THAT BEGAN WORKING WITH FARMERS NATIONWIDE TO GET THEIR CROPS TO PEOPLE IN NEED. THEY RESCUED AN AMAZING 13.6 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD! WE ALSO INTRODUCED AND INTEGRATED A NEW VOLUNTEER IN APP IN 2020. AS OUR SENIOR VOLUNTEER POPULATION SHELTERED IN PLACE DUE TO COVID, WITH THE HELP OF THE APP WE ENGAGED 400 NEW VOLUNTEERS.THE STAFF AND BOARD ALSO LOOK INTERNALLY AT THE VALUES THAT DRIVE OUR MISSION AND DISCOVERED THESE FOUR VALUES SHINED THROUGH EVERY ASPECT OF THE ORGANIZATION. OUR COMMUNITY INCLUDES OUR FOOD DONORS, PARTNER AGENCIES, VOLUNTEERS, STAFF AND YOU! TOGETHER WE MAKE SURPLUS FOOD ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE IN NEED. AS AN ORGANIZATION AND A COMMUNITY, WE HAVE A SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY. THIS IS REFLECTED IN OUR EFFORTS TO RESCUE FOOD, REDUCE WASTE, AND INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTHY, FRESH FOOD. ADAPTABILITY WAS KEY DURING THE PANDEMIC. AS VOLUNTEERS SELF-ISOLATED THE INVESTMENT IN OUR NEW VOLUNTEER APPPROVED VITAL. INTEGRITY IS A DRIVING FORCE. IT HAS ALLOWED US TO ESTABLISH OURSELVES AS A LEADER IN FOOD RECOVERY. THESE CORE VALUES WILL GUIDE OUR DECISION MAKING PROCESS IN THE YEARS TO COME!
