HANG TOUGH OFFERS FUN EVENTS THAT OUR HANG TOUGH FAMILIES CAN ENJOY TOGETHER, FREE OF CHARGE. THESE ARE TIMES TO FORGET ABOUT THE WORRIES AT HOME AND JUST BE A FAMILY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, OUR EVENTS WERE HELD BOTH VIRTUALLY AND IN-PERSON THROUGHOUT 2021. IF THE EVENTS WERE VIRTUAL, SUPPLIES WERE MAILED TO FAMILIES AHEAD OF TIME AND UTILIZED ON THE CALL. WE HAD A SPIRIT WEEK, ZOOM Q&A WITH AUBURN FOOTBALL PLAYERS, LUAUS, SLUMBER PARTY THEME, AND SUMMER FUN VIRTUALLY WE ALSO HOSTED AN IN-PERSON CARNIVAL. ADDITIONALLY, HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION PROVIDES FAMILIES WITH A PARENTS NIGHT OUT. MANY OF OUR HEROES REQUIRE ROUND-THE-CLOCK MEDICAL ATTENTION WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW MUCH, IF ANY, TIME FOR THE CAREGIVER TO STEP AWAY AND BREATHE FOR A BRIEF MOMENT. PARENTS NIGHT OUT IS A TIME WHERE OUR PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS CAN DROP THEIR CHILD(REN) WITH HANG TOUGH VOLUNTEERS AND ENJOY AN EVENING OUT. VOLUNTEERS CONSIST OF MEDICALLY TRAINED PERSONNEL, SPECIAL EDUCATION EXPERTS, INDIVIDUALS TRAINED IN SIGN LANGUAGE, AND OTHERS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING OUR MISSION. WE HOSTED ONE OF THESE EVENTS IN-PERSON AND THE OTHER THREE WERE OFFERED VIRTUALLY VIA AN AT-HOME DATE NIGHT PACKAGE TO STILL PROMOTE THE SELF CARE AND BUILDING IN TIME FOR THE MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS. FURTHERMORE, HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION PROVIDES ONE ADDITIONAL EVENT RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM: SIBLING DAY
ONCE A YEAR, AROUND THE HOLIDAYS, HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION HOLDS SANTA DAY. ON THIS DAY, OUR HEROES AND THEIR SIBLINGS ARE OFFERED THEIR VERY OWN PRIVATE MEETING WITH SANTA. FOR OUR HEROES WHO ARE IMMUNO-COMPROMISED, OR HAVE A SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER, OR ARE UNCOMFORTABLE IN A PUBLIC SETTING TO VISIT SANTA, THIS IS THE PERFECT DAY. SANTA DAY ALLOWS MANY CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO VISIT SANTA IN THE PAST, AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THAT MOMENT LIKE ANY OTHER CHILD.
