THE HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION BUILDS COMMUNITY AND ENGAGES FAMILIES THROUGH SUPPORT AND MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES DURING THEIR JOURNEY WITH CHILDHOOD ILLNESS AND SPECIAL NEEDS.

THE HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION PROVIDED GRIEF, CARE AND WELCOME PACKAGES DURING 2023. THESE PACKAGES INCLUDE GAS CARDS, CLOTHING, EMOTIONAL SUPPORT BOOKS FOR PARENTS/SIBLINGS TO UNDERSTAND ILLNESS, SENSORY ITEMS, ART SUPPLIES AND ACTIVITIES FOR FAMILIES WHILE RECEIVING MEDICAL CARE OR RECOVERING. ADDITIONALLY, HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION HAS PROVIDED HERO FAMILIES WITH IMMEDIATE NEEDS IN THEIR TIME OF NEED. WE ALSO OFFERED COUNSELING SUPPORT DURING CRITICAL PERIODS OF THEIR JOURNEY.


THE HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION OFFERS THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS: SIBLING DAY TEEN HANGOUTS SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVES SUPPORT GROUPS FOR FAMILIES TUTORING


HANG TOUGH OFFERS FUN EVENTS THAT OUR HANG TOUGH FAMILIES CAN ENJOY TOGETHER, FREE OF CHARGE. THESE ARE TIMES TO FORGET ABOUT THE WORRIES AT HOME AND JUST BE A FAMILY ADDITIONALLY, HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION PROVIDES FAMILIES WITH A PARENTS NIGHT OUT. MANY OF OUR HEROES REQUIRE ROUND-THE- CLOCK MEDICAL ATTENTION WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW MUCH, IF ANY, TIME FOR THE CAREGIVER TO STEP AWAY AND BREATHE FOR A BRIEF MOMENT. PARENTS NIGHT OUT IS A TIME WHERE OUR PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS CAN DROP THEIR CHILD(REN) WITH HANG TOUGH VOLUNTEERS AND ENJOY AN EVENING OUT. VOLUNTEERS CONSIST OF MEDICALLY TRAINED PERSONNEL, SPECIAL EDUCATION EXPERTS, INDIVIDUALS TRAINED IN SIGN LANGUAGE, AND OTHERS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING OUR MISSION.


ONCE A YEAR, AROUND THE HOLIDAYS, HANG TOUGH FOUNDATION HOLDS SANTA DAY. ON THIS DAY, OUR HEROES AND THEIR SIBLINGS ARE OFFERED THEIR VERY OWN PRIVATE MEETING WITH SANTA. FOR OUR HEROES WHO ARE IMMUNO-COMPROMISED, OR HAVE A SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER, OR ARE UNCOMFORTABLE IN A PUBLIC SETTING TO VISIT SANTA, THIS IS THE PERFECT DAY. SANTA DAY ALLOWS MANY CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO VISIT SANTA IN THE PAST, AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THAT MOMENT LIKE ANY OTHER CHILD.
