THE ORGANIZATION WORKED WITH DEVELOPERS AND BUILDERS TO CONSTRUCT SPEC HOUSES IN KNOXVILLE, IA. THESE PROJECTS ARE MEANT TO SPARK THE MOVEMENT OF FAMILIES INTO THE AREA BY HAVING HOUSING AVAILABLE FOR SALE WHEN FAMILIES ARE CONSIDERING A MOVE. THEY ARE ALSO MEANT TO ADDRESS A SIGNIFICANT SHORTAGE OF HOUSING OPTIONS IDENTIFIED BY MAJOR EMPLOYERS IN THE AREA AND TO CREATE THE DEMAND FOR A NEW HOUSING DEVELOPMENT IN KNOXVILLE. THE HOUSES HAVE BEEN SOLD AND SIMILAR PROJECTS HAVE BEEN STARTED WITH THE SALE PROCEEDS.
