A CLOSER LOOK INC'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC ON MATTERS OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL JUSTICE THROUGH THE PRODUCTION OF FILM AND OUTREACH CAMPAIGNS.

IN 2023, A CLOSER LOOK SPENT $61,430 ON DIRECT PROJECT EXPENSES. OF THAT, A CLOSER LOOK SPENT $7.2K ON EDITING AND FORMATTING OF OUR DOCUMENTARY FEATURE "CHILDREN OF THE INQUISITION" FOR ITS RELEASE ON PUBLIC TELEVISION THROUGH NETA. THESE FURTHER EDITS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR THE FILM TO BE RELEASED NATIONWIDE ON TELEVISION AND ON PBS ONLINE IN BOTH A FULL AND TWO PART VERSION. ADDITIONALLY, $30.02K HAVE BEEN SPENT ON MARKETING, ADVERTISING, AND PRESS FOR CHILDREN OF THE INQUISITION. 2023 WAS AN EVENTFUL YEAR FOR CHILDREN OF THE INQUISITION, BETWEEN THE DEBUT ON PUBLIC TELEVISION AND PBS ONLINE AS WELL AS ITS SCREENING AT ITS FIRST CATHOLIC VENUE AT THE FULTON J SHEEN CENTER. A LOT OF MATERIALS WERE DEDICATED TO ITS PROMOTION AND DISTRIBUTION. $15K OF OUR TOTAL COST OF GOODS SOLD CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO THE PRODUCTION AND ANIMATION OF OUR NEW ANIMATED FILM ON CONNECTING WITH YOUR INNER-CHILD, "MEDITATION ON A SHOESTRING." $25K WAS DONATED BY STEVE KIRKHAM IN FEBRUARY OF 2023 TOWARDS THIS FILM AND WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON IT SINCE. IN ADDITION TO THE ANIMATION, WE HAVE DEDICATED THE DONATED FUNDS TO MUSIC COMPOSITION AND EDITING AS WELL AS WE MOVE CLOSER TO THE FINAL PRODUCT. "MEDITATION ON A SHOESTRING" IS COMING ALONG NICELY AND FOLLOWS THE LEGACY OF "SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED TO JOEY." IT IS ANOTHER ANIMATED SHORT THAT UTILIZES ITS VISUALS AND NARRATIVE METAPHOR TO MANIFEST FEELINGS THAT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND CONFRONT. AROUND $1.66K HAVE BEEN SPENT ON DEVELOPING AND UPDATING WEBSITES FOR THE ORGANIZATIONS AND ITS PROJECTS SUCH AS "GOING BLIND."THE REST OF A CLOSER LOOK'S 2023 COST OF GOODS SOLD CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO THINGS SUCH AS TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS RELATED TO PROJECTS, AN EXAMPLE BEING THE "SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED TO JOEY" EVENT IN ALBANY AT THE NEW YORK STATE MUSEUM HOSTED BY THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.A CLOSER LOOK SPENT AROUND $6.7K ON COMPUTER AND STREAMING RELATED EXPENSES SUCH AS OUR BUSINESS VIMEO, IMDB, BOOKKEEPING SOFTWARE, ETC.
