A CLOSER LOOK HAS SPENT $12,000 DURING 2022 ON DISTRIBUTING AND MARKETING THE FILM "CHILDREN OF THE INQUISITION". THIS FILM PROMOTES PUBLIC AWARENESS OF RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION AND DISCRIMINATION. A CLOSER LOOK OFFERS COMMUNITY SCREENINGS OF "CHILDREN OF THE INQUISITION" WITH EDUCATIONAL DISCUSSION PANELS WITH EXPERTS AND OUTREACH MATERIAL AND BEGAN DEVELOPMENT OF ACADEMIC CURRICULA AROUND THE FILM. SCREENINGS IN 2022, WERE HOSTED AT TULANE UNIVERSITY BY THEIR DEPARTMENT OF JEWISH STUDIES, THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUM OF HOUSTON, AND THE 25TH JEWISH FILMS FESTIVAL OF DALLAS. BY THE END OF THE YEAR WE HAVE ESTABLISHED THAT IN 2023: "CHILDREN OF THE INQUISITION" WILL HAVE A PUBLIC BROADCAST RUN WITH NETA AND WILL HAVE AN EVENT AT THE BISHOP FULTON J. SHEEN CENTER FOR THOUGHT & CULTURE. ADDITIONALLY AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR THE FILM HAD A VIRTUAL SCREENING AND TALK BACK WITH THE AMERICAN JEWISH HISTORICAL SOCIETY. A CLOSER LOOK HAS SPENT $15,000 DURING 2022 ON DISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING OF THE FILM "GOING BLIND", WHICH HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE TO OVER 300 BLIND SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AROUND THE WORLD. IN 2022, A CLOSER LOOK HELD SCREENINGS AND ACTIVITIES FOR "GOING BLIND" WITH SUNY COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY, FUTURE IN SIGHT NEW HAMPSHIRE (FORMERLY THE NH ASSOCIATION FOR THE BLIND), THE GLAUCOMA FOUNDATION, AND LEADERSHIP FELLOWS NEW YORK. IN ADDITION TO THAT WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE EDUCATIONAL PURCHASES OF THE FILM FROM ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS INCLUDING THE TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND & VISUALLY IMPAIRED AND THE ORLANDO VA MEDICAL CENTER. FOR OUR MOST RECENT PROJECT, "SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED TO JOEY", WE'VE HAD CONVERSATIONS WITH THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF ART NEW YORK ABOUT CREATING AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AROUND THE FILM. WE HAVE ALSO BEEN ACCEPTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NEW YORK MENTAL HEALTH FILM FESTIVAL AND THE FILM HAS RECEIVED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM OTHER FESTIVALS AS WELL: FINALIST AT THE SANTA BARBARA INTERNATIONAL SHORT FEST; OFFICIAL SELECTION FOR THE FESTIVAL MENTAL - MENTAL HEALTH ARTS AND FILM FESTIVAL; SEMI FINALIST FOR THE BERLIN SHORTS AWARD; OFFICIAL SELECTION FOR FLICKERS' RHODE ISLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL; BEST ANIMATED SHORT FOR THE ONE-REELER SHORT FILM COMPETITION; BEST ANIMATED SHORT FOR THE PARIS INTERNATIONAL SHORT FESTIVAL.
