MIDWEST CHILD CARE ASSOCIATION ADMINISTERS THE USDA CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM WITHIN THE STATE OF NEBRASKA TO APPROXIMATELY 440 CHILD CARE HOMES AND 70 CHILD CARE CENTERS. MIDWEST REIMBURSED APPROXIMATELY 3,000 LOW INCOME CHILDREN IN THE HOMES ON AN AVERAGE AND APPROXIMATELY 3,300 FREE/REDUCED CHILDREN ON AVERAGE IN OUR CENTERS. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF USDA QUALIFIED MEALS REIMBURSED BY MIDWEST ON AN ANNUAL BASIS WAS APPROXIMATELY $3,245,000 TO THE CHILD CARE HOMES AND $2,639,000 TO THE CENTERS. MIDWEST ALSO TRAINS BOTH HOMES AND CENTERS ON THE NUTRITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE USDA CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM. ANNUALLY, APPROXIMATELY 600 INDIVIDUALS ARE TRAINED EITHER ON-SITE AT MIDWEST, OR IN THEIR PLACE OF BUSINESS, OR THOUGH WEBINARS. THESE TRAININGS ALSO INCLUDE BUSINESS-RELATED TOPICS AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT IN ADDITION TO NUTRITION.
