TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO ACTIVE AND RETIRED MEMBERS OF THE PIERCE COUNTY DEPUTY SHERIFFS' COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THEIR TIMS OF NEED AND IN TIMES OF BEREAVEMENT DUE TO THE LOSS OR SEVERE INJURY OF A DEPUTY FIRST RESPONDER IN THE LINE OF DUTY AND TO ENGAGE IN ANY OTHER LAWFUL ACTIVITY WHICH MAY HEREAFTER BE AUTHORIZED FROM TIME TO TIME BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS PROVIDED THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH SHALL AT ALL TIMES BE CONSISTENT WITH SECFTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.
