TO ADVANCE THE INHERENT POTENTIAL OF YOUNG ADULTS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES IN THE WORK FORCE THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS THAT FOSTER INDEPENDENCE, SELF-ADVOCACY AND SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT.

Part 3 - Line 4a

PROVIDING HOLISTIC TRAINING, MENTORING AND PAID INTERNSHIP PROGRAM WITH UNIQUE FOCUS ON STRESS REDUCTION AND TOLERANCE, FLEXIBILITY, AND SOCIAL SUPPORTS. THE PROGRAM ENCOMPASSES AN INITIAL WEEK TRAINING PERIOD THAT COVERS THE SOFT SKILLS OF WORKFORCE PREPAREDNESS WITH A CURRICULUM THAT FOCUES ON PROFESSIONALISM AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, SELF ADVOCACY, WORKING ON A TEAM, REUSME BUILDING FIANCNIAL LITERACY AND NETWORKING. AFTER THE TRAINING IS COMPLETED, THE PROGRAM ENCOMPASSES A MENTORING AND PAID INTERNSHIP PROGRAM THAT CONSIST OF 7-12 WEEKS FOLLOWING THE INITIAL TRAINING PERIOD. PARTICIPANTS WORK FOUR DAYS A WEEK AND TRAIN ON FRIDAYS TO REINFORCE CONCEPTS LEARNED IN THE INITIAL TRAINING AND TO DISCUSS ONGOING PROGRESS AND AREAS OF NEEDED SUPPORT.
