GOVERNANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY:DEMOCRACY FUND VOICE BELIEVES THAT CHECKS AND BALANCES, THE RULE OF LAW, AND HEALTHY GOVERNING INSTITUTIONS ARE ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL SYSTEM. WE SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS THAT DEFEND AGAINST ABUSES OF POWER, EMPOWER CONGRESS TO EMBRACE ITS ARTICLE ONE POWERS, AND HELP STRENGTHEN CONGRESS' ABILITY TO FUNCTION AND RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.


PARTICIPATION AND ELECTIONS:DEMOCRACY FUND VOICE BELIEVES OUR COUNTRY IS STRONGER WHEN MORE AMERICANS ARE CIVICALLY ENGAGED AND WHEN MORE ELIGIBLE VOTERS PARTICIPATE AND ARE FULLY INFORMED IN ELECTIONS. WE SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS THAT ADVANCE NEW TOOLS AND POLICIES THAT AMPLIFY PUBLIC WILL, PROTECT CIVIL RIGHTS, AND ENSURE THE ELECTION SYSTEM WORKS FOR A DIVERSE ELECTORATE. WE ALSO SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS WHO EDUCATE, REGISTER, AND ACTIVATE VOTERS.


JOURNALISM AND MEDIA:DEMOCRACY FUND VOICE BELIEVES THAT VIBRANT MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS FROM LOCAL NEWS OUTLETS TO PUBLIC MEDIA TO THE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS -- ARE ESSENTIAL TO ENGAGING VOTERS, COMBATTING MIS- AND DIS-INFORMATION, AND HOLDING POWER TO ACCOUNT. WE SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS ADVOCATING FOR NEW POLICIES AND PRACTICES THAT ENSURE VOTERS HAVE THE PUBLIC SQUARE THEY DESERVE.
