CENTRAL SIX DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL AND COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS HAVE HAD TREMENDOUS SUCCESS AMID THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THE ORGANIZATION HAS CONTINUED TO SUCCESSFULLY ALIGN COMMUNITY COLLEGE GRANT SPENDING IN TRAINING PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY. SPECIFICALLY APPRENTICESHIP AND WORK-BASED TRAINING MODELS HAVE BEEN CREATED TO SUPPORT HEALTHCARE, ADVANCED MANUFACTURING, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND TRANSPORTATION AND LOGISTICS. IN RESPONSE TO COVID, CENTRAL SIX HAS CREATED A JOB SEEKER PORTAL TO HELP JOB SEEKERS MORE READILY ACCESS SUPPORT SERVICES AND AS SUCH HAVE SUPPORTED MORE THAN 400 INDIVIDUALS ACROSS THE REGION INTO TRAINING OR EMPLOYMENT. THE ORGANIZATION HAS ALSO LAUNCHED A RIDE SHARING PROGRAM THAT HAS SERVED OVER 100 RESIDENTS WITH TRANSPORTATION TO SCHOOL, TRAINING OR WORK.
