TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCTION PROCESSING AND DISTRIBUTION OF AGRICULTURAL LIVESTOCK AND COMMODITIES PRODUCED IN THE ALBEMARLE REGION OF NC THROUGH EDUCATION EXHIBITION AND PROMOTION.

Part 3

NORTHEAST AG EXPO IS HELD ANNUALLY ON THE LAST THURSDAY IN JULY TO SHOWCASE VARIOUS CROPS IN ACTUAL GROWING CONDITIONS AND TO REFLECT VARIOUS FARMING PRACTICES AND VARIETIES OF CORN WHEAT COTTON SOYBEANS GROWN IN THE SIX COUNTIES THAT MAKE UP THE ALBEMARLE REGION OF NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. AREA FARMERS AND AGRI-BUSINESSES CAN SEE FIRST HAND THE PRACTICES AND RESULTS OF CROP YIELD REPORTS MADE AVAILABLE TO THE SIX COUNTIES INVOLVED.


THE SOYBEAN FESTIVAL IS HELD ANNUALLY IN JANUARY. THIS SHOWCASE EVENT IS FOLLOWED BY A DINNER WHICH PROVIDES FARMERS WITH CURRENT INFORMATION ABOUT SOYBEANS AND PRESENT VARIOUS USES INCLUDING FOOD SAMPLES.


THE FARM CITY BANQUET IN AN ANNUAL EVENT HELD IN NOVEMBER WHICH STRIVES TO BRING TOGETHER THE FARMERS IN THIS NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA AREA TO FELLOWSHIP WITH THEIR URBAN NEIGHBORS. THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF EACH EVENT IS TO SHOWCASE AND CREATE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE FARMERS AND THEIR URBAN COUNTERPARTS.
