CONSUMER INFORMATION AND PROMOTION:PROMOTING PORK AND PORK PRODUCTION PRACTICES TO INCREASE CONSUMER AWARENESS AND ACCEPTANCE OF OUR PRODUCTS TO ULTIMATELY RESULT IN INCREASED PORK CONSUMPTION. ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDE DELIVERY OF POSITIVE MESSAGES ABOUT PORK AND PORK PRODUCTION PRACTICES THROUGH PRINT AND SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS; SANCTIONING AND SUPPORT OF NEW AND EXISTING LOCAL BARBECUE CONTESTS AND CONDUCTING THE NC PORK COUNCIL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP BARBECUE CONTEST; PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION ON PORK PRODUCTION; AND COOKING PORK CHEFS AS WELL AS FOR THE NC STATE FAIR AND THE NC MOUNTAIN STATE FAIR; AND SUPPORTING INTERNATIONAL MARKETING DEVELOPMENT.
