THE BUCYRUS BACKPACK PROGRAM WAS FORMED TO RECOGNIZE AND PROMOTE THE OVERALL HEALTH, WELFARE, EDUCATION, AND OTHER SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC NEEDS OF THE STUDENTS OF LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS INCLUDING BUCYRUS, WYNFORD, COLONEL CRAWFORD, BUCKEYE CENTRAL, CRESTLINE, FAIRWAY PRESCHOOL, HIGH ROAD ACADEMY, GOAL ACADEMY, AND ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL-CRESTLINE. THE ORGANIZATION HELPS TO ERADICATE HUNGER AMONG THE STUDENTS OF THE BUCYRUS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT WHOSE PARENTS ARE STRUGGLING ECONOMICALLY. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A BACKPACK FILLED WITH MEALS THAT WILL FEED THE STUDENT AND/OR MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY OVER THE WEEKEND. THE PROGRAM DISTRIBUTED 15,466 BAGS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR.
