THE SEA DELIGHT OCEAN FUND, INC. SUPPORTS GLOBAL FISHERY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS AND BETTER FISHING PRACTICES INITIATIVES, CREATES AND PROMOTE AWARENESS FOR RESPONSIBLE FISHING PRACTICES AND ADEQUATE MANAGEMENT OF THE FISHERY, MINIMIZES THE IMPACT OF BYCATCH AND HUMAN ACTIVITY ON THE ENVIRONMENT; AND EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ON THE NEED TO SUPPORT THESE PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO PROTECT MARINE RESOURCES.

IN AN EFFORT TO SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION, THE SEA DELIGHT OCEAN FUND HAS DEVELOPED AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA THAT PROVIDED THEM WITH "HANDS-ON" EXPERIENCE WORKING IN EXISTING FISHERY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (FIPS) AND BETTER FISHING PRACTICES INITIATIVES (BFPIS). STUDENTS WORKED ON REAL FISHERIES'S ISSUES IN VIETNAM AND INDONESIA.SEA DELIGHT OCEAN FUND, INC. EDUCATED THE PUBLIC ON VARIOUS FISHING RELATED TOPICS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IN INDONESIA, VIETNAM, ECUADOR, COSTA RICA, AND BEYOND. THE TOPICS DISCUSSED INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, ILLEGAL FISHING PRACTICES, DATA COLLECTION, GPS AND GPS CAMERA EQUIPMENT, ECO TOURISM, AND THE BEST PRACTICE FISHERY MANAGEMENT.
