TRAINING CENTER: THE TRAINING CENTER CONSISTS OF CLASSROOM FACILITIES, STAFF HOUSING AND EQUIPMENT AND BUILDINGS USED FOR HANDS-ON TRAINING AS WELL AS OUTSIDE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. IN 2021 COSTS WERE INCURRED TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE TRAINING CENTER. IN ADDITION, WE CONTINUED TO BUILD OUR CAMPUS INFRASTRUCTURE INCLUDING A RESTROOM FACILITY FOR STUDENTS, A METAL FABRICATION FACILITY, AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP, SECURITY FENCING AND SOLAR INSTALLATION.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: THE TRAINING PROGRAM ENABLES HAITIAN WORKERS TO OBTAIN EMPLOYMENT IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY TO PROVIDE FOOD, SHELTER, SCHOOL AND MEDICAL CARE TO THEIR FAMILIES AND TO RAISE THE CONSTRUCTION QUALITY LEVEL IN HAITI BUILDING PROJECTS. OUR TRAINING COMBINES CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION WITH ON THE JOB TRAINING AND SUPERVISION. EXTOLLO PROVIDED CONSTRUCTION TRAINING FOR HAITIAN WORKERS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: (1) LEVEL 1 - WE COMPLETED 10 COURSES COLLECTIVELY TRAINING 82 HAITIAN STUDENTS IN WELDING AND MASONRY IN 2021. THE NUMBER OF PERSONS GRADUATED WERE 56 IN MASON AND 26 IN WELDING.--CONTINUED ON SCH O--CONTINUATION:(2) PRACTICUM - 8 ALUMNI WORKED IN 5 TRADES: MASONRY, CONCRETE, CARPENTRY, PLUMBING, AND ELECTRICAL FOR A TOTAL OF 734 HOURS OF ADVANCED INSTRUCTION.(3) ALUMNI - 56 ALUMNI BENEFITTED FROM JOB SEARCH AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT TRAINING.
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT TO HAITIAN WORKERS IN THE CONSTRUCTION TRADES AND FOR THESE PROJECTS MANY EXTOLLO GRADUATES ARE EMPLOYED.THESE COSTS INCLUDE DIRECT AND INDIRECT COSTS OF EXTERNAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.IN 2021 WE BEGAN CONSTRUCTION ON A TILT-UP HOUSE PROTOTYPE WITH THE PLAN TO CONSTRUCT AND SELL THESE HOMES BEGINNING IN LATE 2022.
